The Helix-P is the first rotary hydraulic boatlift . High-speed DC hydraulics , versus AC electric motors , enable speeds 12-times faster , quiet operation and higher reliability . Since it is 100 % submergible , the structure is hidden , the cradle locks in the up position without sway and is protected from storm surge . The compact design enables marinas to have approximately 15 % more slips , less electrical cost , nicer looks and improved safety . The single motor design enables the boat to be off-center , closer to the dock for easier / safer boarding and without constant releveling . Helix-P is also the first boat lift with computer control enabling acceleration / deceleration , soft-stop , overload protection and multiple stops .
