With the recent and unprecedented business across recreational boating , it ’ s been a lot of “ let ’ s just keep cranking out boats and do our best to catch up .” It ’ s been a full-blown sprint just to slightly attempt to keep up with demand .

With that increasing demand , new ideas and innovation in our products often suffered . Now that demand in our industry has begun to normalize , it ’ s time to shift focus back on innovation . Socrates is often quoted as saying “ the secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old , but building the new .”

We as an industry were “ gifted ” a mass amount of both new and returning boaters over the last few years and now we have to continue to push our products forward to that we can keep them involved on the water and continue to bring in a new generation .

Whether in new building components , new energy sources , new accessories or whole new boat models all together , innovation keeps driving us forward together as an industry . New products and innovations continue to draw new people to boating , keep them boating and ensuring that they are creating the best memories possible during a day on the water .

With this issue , Boating Industry celebrates 10 years of shining a spotlight of the newest , most innovative products to hit the market across the recreational marine industry with it ’ s annual Top Products Awards . The 50 products featured in this year ’ s Top Products Awards highlight continued invention and innovation on the water .

From new boat models to services and accessories – an everything else in between – this year ’ s Top Products prove that our industry cannot be slowed . And it is our hope that the Top Products program inspires industry members to keep the wheels of innovation turning as we push boating further into the future .

2023 Top 100 : Top Dealers applications now open ! I ’ m so excited to announce that 2023 applications for the Top Dealers Awards as part of Boating Industry ’ s Top 100 Awards are now available to begin filling out and submitting . Applications are due June 26 , 2023 . The application is lengthy and requires a serious commitment . It helps the judging panel learn about your company and properly evaluate it . There are two different applications , depending on your goals . The simple application has reduced the number of questions by half . If your goal is simply to be part of the Top Dealers , you can fill out the simple application . Alternatively , if your dealership ’ s goal is to be considered for top awards such as the Top 20 , Best in Class awards and Dealer of the Year , you can fill out the full application .
