“ When it comes to taxes , we find ourselves in an opportunistic moment ,” he continued . “ The tax cuts enacted during President Trumps first term provided a significant boost to our industry , specifically manufacturers and boat builders . Those cuts are set to expire at the end of this year . NMMA is already actively engaged with Congress to advocate for extending these cuts and maintaining a competitive tax code that supports U . S . marine manufacturing .”
He said that global trade is also a high priority . “ Stable access to international markets and supply chains is essential for our industry ’ s growth … As the new administration refines its approach to tariff and trade agreements , NMMA is already working to ensure that recreational boat builders have a seat at the table , are protected and positioned to grow both here in North America and abroad . But I ’ ll tell you , it ’ s going to be a tough road .”
He stated that unity and consistency of message across the industry ’ s global network is necessary as the new administration forms . NMMA has worked with global partners to launch a unified lifecycle assessment framework for the entire global marine industry , “ so we get ahead of regulations popping up all around the world .”

It served as a reminder to focus on what can be controlled , so the industry can continue to grow . He said that culture is an investment , not an expense .

Finally , Larry Berryman , director of the Miami International Boat Show , NMMA , shared : “ With the steadfast support of Miami Beach mayor , commissioners and administration , the Miami Boat Show recently solidified a long-term agreement to bring the in-water power boat and yacht component back to Miami Beach in 2026 .”
