What was your first job ? From my earliest childhood memories , I found myself amidst the aisles of my grandfather ' s convenience store . Whether it was restocking shelves , pricing items with the “ sticker gun ,” or ringing up purchases when I got older , every task held a significance far beyond its surface . I discovered the value of hard work , the joy of serving others , and the importance of building relationships with every person who walked in our doors . However , if you asked my family this question , you would get many different answers about my first job as I developed the spirit of entrepreneurism quite early on in life . Having served in the state legislature since being elected in 1997 , Rep . Houston provided me with wisdom , encouragement , and guidance on how to be an influential player in the world of Government . Inside the industry , Buck Pegg and Ann Baldree are two people who have always encouraged and mentored me along the way . The positive influence these incredible people and many others have had on my life and career is immeasurable . Who was your hero as a child ?
