as much as the more experienced industry pros or know what is best for the industry since we haven ’ t been in it as long as some other peers . I felt I had to prove I could talk the talk and walk the walk very early on so I would do hours of research after work on the industry standards , statistics , historical info and read up on new trends , not just in the industry , but in the marketplace in general . I did this to show my peers & industry professionals that I was dedicated to the space and committed to learning what may be coming next . I also tried to think creatively and bring new energy and ideas to the table and have hung my hat on that the past few years . I found that is not just about being experienced in the industry , but coming to the table with new and exciting things to enhance the community is what peers and colleagues find most impressive and I have found some success in doing so . Who was your hero as a child ? My dad was my hero as a kid and is still today .
He was a police officer in New York and instilled a great work ethic in me from a young age . He was a big inspiration in my pursuit of collegiate lacrosse and always believed in me while pushing me to always do my best in anything I was doing . Why should young professionals choose a career in the marine industry ? I believe the marine industry is an extremely tight-knit and welcoming community that is so upbeat and energetic – it is hard to not enjoy what you are doing ! Young professionals should look into this industry as it is growing every day so there are opportunities everywhere to put your name on something and do some really cool and amazing work . Who wouldn ’ t want to be involved in a space where your peers support and build you up , your inspiration is the water and beautiful boats , and every day you can experience something new and different .
