Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company was founded in 1977 after acquiring the United States distribution rights for Monolithic Membrane 6125, a waterproofing membrane developed in the early 1960s by Uniroyal Ltd. The membrane has been installed worldwide on more than 2 billion square feet of roof decks, plazas, vertical foundations, reflecting pools and other structures in over 45 countries. Today, Hydrotech's flagship product remains Monolithic Membrane 6125. Additional products from American Hydrotech include architectural finish pavers, vegetated roofs, drainage composites, protection materials, insulation products, and more. American Hydrotech has been involved in many major green roof projects, including projects involving major sports franchises, including the Chicago Bulls, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Blackhawks and more. The follow photo essay highlights a few of these major projects: Sports Facility Green Roofs Chicago Bulls More than 1,800 square feet of Hanover Architectural pavers and LiteTop growing media were used in American Hydrotech's 11,000-square-foot extensive garden roof and Ultimate Assembly atop the Advocate Center, the Chicago Bulls training facility.
