ARCTIC CAT'S ALL-NEW SNOCROSS MACHINE Arctic Cat is aiming an all-new 2018 ZR 6000R SX snocross race machine at the top step of the podium this season thanks to a wide array of technological improvements that deliver improved handling, greater predictability in rough conditions, optimal ergonomics and bet- ter throttle response. The result of an intense effort by the Arctic Cat Engineering and Race Departments, the 2018 ZR 6000R SX snocross machine is new from nose to tail, with more than 350 new parts compared to the previous year. The 2018 Arctic Cat ZR 6000R SX can only be purchased through the Arctic Cat Race Department. "Many of the improvements we've made to the 2018 ZR 6000R SX were inspired and proven by the Pro Open snocross sleds raced by Tucker Hibbert and Logan Christian during the past several years," said Brian Dick, Arctic Cat High Performance/Race Product team manager. "In fact, both racers played a big role in the testing and development of the new sled, and after some late spring testing, confirmed the huge improvements we were aiming for." Kevin Smith, of Kinetic Fuel Tech- nology, said that he was "real happy" with the opportunity to demonstrate its unique K-100 fuel treatment to WPS sales reps and to train them on how to sell the product that combines fuel stabilization, moisture management and octane improvement with other benefits. He continued his demos and training with dealers and provided a two-bottle product sample of K-100 MG+ gasoline treatment as part of the dealership goodie bags. To back up the presentation, Kinetic was offering free dealer display units with qualifying orders. Jim Salerno, president of Mack Studs, echoed Smith in his evaluation of the event. "It was exciting to meet all the reps from WPS these past few days," he said afterward. "I believe attending this show will be very ben- eficial to Mack Studs, Inc. moving forward. I look forward to the upcoming season and to a very productive relationship with WPS." The dealers in attendance certainly hope that the coming winter brings the chance to prove Shoemaker's assertion that WPS is ready for it. A new rail profile places 6 inches more rail contact on the snow (compared to the previous 129-inch track) for improved bump compliance and reduced bottom- ing on the chassis. It's matched by the new ARS front suspension fea- turing increased caster, adjustable camber and increased ground clear- ance. The result is signifi- cantly improved handling that's more predictable and confidence-inspiring, as well as increased cornering bite. A full range of ergonomic improvements to the new ZR 6000R SX include a new light- weight seat design that works in concert with a new, ultra-compact 3-gallon fuel tank, Next Gen side panel bodywork and a new console to allow easier movement around the sled, espe- cially for cornering, as well as a lower center- of-gravity. ARCTIC CAT'S 2018 XC Arctic Cat is set to defend its cross-country championship titles with a new 2018 ZR 6000R XC snowmobile that features key improve- ments for the upcoming season. The newest consumer-available machine builds on wins in the 2017 USXC I-500 and Iron Dog events with FOX ZERO QS3R shocks, a new lightweight tubular driven shaft sys- tem, race-bred seat design, the auto-adjusting TEAM Rapid Response II drive and TS-273 driven clutch combination, as well as improve- ments in engine calibration mapping. It starts with the lightweight, ultra-tough Pro-Cross chassis that delivers champion- ship-winning rigidity and ergonomics. It's matched by the combination of the ARS front suspension and the 129 Slide-Action rear sus- pension (with seven-position rear coupling adjustability) effortlessly carves corners and swallows bumps. A new four-wheel rear axle design increases track support in high-load racing conditions. PSB The 2018 Arctic Cat ZR 6000R SX features 350 new parts. Photo coutesy of Arctic Cat
