Red Rock 'n' Roll Criss-crossed by an amazing assortment of roads, some of which pass through the Mighty 5—the nickname given to five of the most spectacular national parks in America—Utah is a motorcyclist's paradise. In the eastern part of the state is the adventure town of Moab, which sits on the edge of the Colorado River between the red rock wonderlands of Arches and Canyonlands national parks. Bucket-list rides abound in the Moab area, both paved routes like the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway (State Route 128) and unpaved routes like the 70-mile White Rim Trail in Canyonlands. This photo was taken on Chicken Corners Trail, a 42-mile, out-and- back route along the Colorado River that goes over Hurrah Pass and, at the end, provides a view of Dead Horse Point, made famous when Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis drove their convertible off the cliff at the end of "Thelma and Louise."
