After visiting Rhyolite, we backtracked on Route 374 (Daylight Pass Road) to Titus Canyon Road, where we crossed into the small wedge of Death Valley National Park that's in Nevada (most of it is in California). As one of the most popular backcountry routes in the park, you can expect to share the road with Jeeps, 4x4 pickup trucks and a few ambitious (foolish?) folks driving minivans and cars even though high-clearance vehicles are recommended. Given the steep, uneven surfaces going over Red Pass and loose gravel in Titus Canyon, it should be avoided by most street-going motorcyclists. But if you have an adventure or dual-sport bike and some off-road experience, then you'll find Titus Canyon Road to be a fun, rewarding, scenic ride. www.FavoriteRidesAndDestinations.com | ridermagazine.com PAGE 38 FALL 2017 ISSUE 02 / VOL. 02
