34 • September 4, 2017 • Powersports Business www.PowersportsBusiness.com FOCUS PSB BY LISA PELISSIER CONTRIBUTING WRITER Polaris has received a staggering share of inter- est in utility vehicles on Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com for 2017 year-to-date. The top 10 Polaris utility vehicles included nine RZR mod- els and a single Ranger, the XP 900 EPS. All of the top 10 most-researched Polaris utility vehicles displaced 800cc to 1000cc. This stands in contrast to the top 10 most- researched non-Polaris list, in which six of the vehicles displaced 500cc to 700cc. Only one vehicle from the top 10 most- researched non-Polaris utility vehicles list would have made it onto a combined (Polaris and non-Polaris) top 10 list. That vehicle, the 2006 Yamaha Rhino 660 4x4, received 93 percent more KBB.com page views than the No. 2 model on the list. This was up from its 77 percent lead last year. Polaris took six spots on the list of the top 10 model year 2017 utility vehicles. Three of the four non-Polaris vehicles on the list were new vehicles for model year 2017, the Can- Am Maverick X3 X ds Turbo R, the Can-Am Maverick X3 X rs Turbo R and the Yamaha YXZ1000R SS SE. The top 10 series have received almost 90 percent of KBB.com page views for utility vehicles year-to-date. Other series that just missed inclusion in the top 10 were the Arctic Cat Prowler and the Yamaha Viking. Polaris has overwhelmingly dominated interest in utility vehicles on KBB.com for 2017 year-to-date. It has received 54 percent of KBB.com page views for utility vehicles, a slight gain from its overall 2016 share of 53.5 percent. Can-Am was the No. 4 most researched utility vehicle manufacturer in 2016. So far for 2017, it has nudged both Kawasaki and Yamaha down a position to take the No. 2 spot on the list.
