A total of 2 percent of the states have remained the same, indicated in yellow. The chart on Page 37 focuses on the aver- age retail dollars that were spent on acces- sories when buyers purchased an accessory. The trend in accessory sales indicates that UTV buyers find value in accessories during the colder months. The average amount of retail dollars spent on accessories peaked at $1,823 in January 2017. Between November 2016 and January 2017, the average retail amount spent on UTV accessories was above the $1,600 mark. A total of 22 percent of the total new UTV units sold were sold during this same time frame. On average, 55 percent of units sold between November 2016 and January 2017 were sold with an accessory. As seen in previous years, the average amount spent on UTV accessories decreases in the spring and summer months, however, the number of new UTV units sold increases Part Category Part Number Description OEM % of Accessory Sales Source: CDK Global Recreation Body 0SR85-HL4-101 HARD ROOF (5P) Honda 2% Body 2882285 K-ROOF,2PK,TTN Polaris 2% Windshield 0SR71-HL4-A00 TWO PIECE WS HC Honda 2% Electrical 2880023 MY14 RGR XP 900 HEATER KIT Polaris 1% Body 2880503 KIT-DOOR,PREM,TTN, Polaris 1% Body 2882286 K-ROOF,2PK,TTC Polaris 1% Body 2881253 K-DOORS,HINGED,TTN Polaris 1% Winch 2881666 K-WINCH,4500,PREM,C,TTN Polaris 1% Windshield 2879269 PRO-FIT GLASS WINDSHIELD (FIXE Polaris 1% Winch 08L71-HL3-A41 WINCH Honda 1% TOP 10 ACCESSORIES PURCHASED WITH A NEW UTV 145K new units sold, July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017 $121M in accessory sales, $2B in new UTV unit sales Part Category Part Number Description OEM Sales Body 99999-0593 KIT FLR CVR GRD SXS16 Kawasaki 1.0% Windshield 2879966 LOCK & RIDE PRO-FIT TIP-OUT GLASS WINDSHIELD Polaris 0.6% Drive 2880758 K-TRACKS,CMPLST,UTV,18/18(EPS) Polaris 0.5% Electrical 2880023 MY14 RGR XP 900 HEATER KIT Polaris 0.5% Body 2880503 KIT-DOOR,PREM,TTN, Polaris 0.4% Body 2881253 K-DOORS,HINGED,TTN Polaris 0.4% Windshield 2879754 KIT-WIPER,WSHLD,CMPLT,BRT Polaris 0.3% Body 2878853 PRO-FIT CANVAS DOORS Polaris 0.2% Winch 2881672 K-WINCH,4500,PREM,C,RZN Polaris 0.2% Windshield 2879269 PRO-FIT GLASS WINDSHIELD Polaris 0.2% TOP 10 ACCESSORIES INSTALLED AFTER THE PURCHASE OF A UTV 559K units serviced, July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017, $54M in parts sales % of Accessory U.S. PERCENT OF UNITS WITH ACCESSORY INSTALLATIONS AFTER UTV PURCHASE In 15-day increments from the unit date of purchase, 145K new units sold July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017, $2B in new UTV unit sales, 16K units serviced 22% 16% 12% 10% 7% 6% 5% 5% 16% 0% 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% 1-14 Days 15-29 Days 30-44 Days 45-59 Days 60-74 Days 75-89 Days 90-104 Days 105-119 Days 120+ Days CDK CONTINUED FROM PAGE 22 during the same time. The U.S Percent of New Unit Sales with No Accessories charts (Page 22 and 36) focus on the percentage of units that were sold without an accessory. For the second year in a row, Montana has outfitted the most UTVs with accessories. In addition to selling the highest percentage of retail accessory dollars, three out of every four UTVs sold in Montana go out the door with an accessory. The inverse can be seen in the California region, where three out of every four UTVs go out the door without accessories. At 83 per- cent, Hawaii sold the lowest percent of UTVs with an add-on. This number has decreased 14 percent from last year, where Hawaii sold 97 percent of UTVs without an accessory. This is the most dramatic increase in accessory sales seen in this study. UTVs sold in the Southern region were the most equipped for a region as a whole, with See CDK, Page 36
